Crystal Czubernat
Hello, my name is Crystal Czubernat, LMHC. I was born and raised in rural middle America, with country music, baptist churches and conservative ideas of how the world works and who God is. But I always longed for more. I’m grateful I was given a foundation of the divine and yet also grateful to know and understand God is so different from what I was told as a child. I could always sense and was drawn to the idea that there was a bigger me and a bigger God that I saw reflected in literature, art and nature.
My search took me all the way from Michigan to Seattle, WA where I attended and graduated from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. It was there that I met and fell in-love with my wife Candice. When I came out as a lesbian to my community there was loss of relationship and that was and is painful. But as grief goes, the deep, acute pain of that loss moved through my life and is now a distant memory as I dive into the joy and fullness that is my life now. I’ve been with my wife for 16 years and married for 8. We have boy/girl 7 year old twins, Deacon & Dylan and a miniature schnauzer named Charlie. I’m living a free life that is full of love and acceptance and I believe that you can too.
For many years my work as a therapist was intertwined with my other passions that included first generation minorities in education and leadership development but, no matter what kind of work I was doing, it was always first through a therapeutic lens. I love walking with people through life and reflecting the goodness of God that is within them and the wholeness of life that awaits.
I have a bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University, a master’s degree from Pacific Oaks College and a second Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I am licensed in the state of Washington.
