Kate Monaghan
Hello! My name is Kate Monaghan and I am a Queer, Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling where I studied the intersection of faith and psychology and I have been in clinical practice since 2017.
Growing up, I never really knew what to do with my feelings of attraction to women throughout my childhood and into my adolescence. I felt attraction for both genders but I never fully allowed myself to experience them due to the fear of being judged or rejected by my family and faith community. I’ve had a diverse experience in many different churches but, it wasn’t until I fully stepped into my authentic self and started dating that I found peace and love. I’m now dating the most wonderful woman I have ever met.
I believe I am loved and known intimately by the God who created me and I believe the same about you. As a therapist, I am open, non-judgmental, and encouraging. My approach to therapy is strengths based and trauma informed. We will focus on your internal resourcefulness and work through your life experiences. I value creating a strong rapport and a safe space for clients to feel heard and valued. I understand therapy is a vulnerable experience and finding the right person to talk to can feel intimidating. I am so glad you are taking this step toward greater mental health, wellbeing and freedom.
